Afro-Delic Electric Eclectic Poetics

Faucet Water

I grew up on faucet water

Lived on Sesame Street

Where Mr. Rogers was my neighbor

Didn’t know we were poor

Cause Grandma insisted

We were blessed and highly favored

We were bold when we didn’t know any better

I was laid back

My little brother, the go-getter

We popped willy’s, fought bullies

And ignored little girls

Imagination was the only thing

I needed in this world

It cured boredom and hunger

Made sure I never knew lust

Unless it was candy, cake and pizza

White bread sandwiches with no crust

Faucet water was the beverage for us

Between basketball, football and dodgeball

The only gods in which we trust

Quenched my thirst for the Universe

Where superlative was all we had to give

And Reciprocity is a must
